Flash Fiction Challenge 2020: October

Booooo! (That’s me trying to be a spooky ghost. Did it work?) Well, we’re into our 10th month of the 2020 Flash Fiction Challenge. My goodness, only two more to go!

You can read September’s entries here, if you like!

Here’s the video of me choosing the cards for October’s challenge! Yeah, I laughed my head off. I am astonishingly bad at choosing cards, and I totally levelled up this month.

Closed captions are available for this video!

You have until Monday October 12 ( 2-3 p.m. EDT) to submit your stories. Please add a link to your stories in the comments section of this post. And if you’re done sooner, you can comment sooner!

I’ll write a summary post later on to highlight the stories that have come in.

Good luck!

  1. I’d forgotten we were going to do this! (The time zipped past me!) And I started another flash fiction story last night set in a real-life location in town that is not far away from the real-life location that is made to order for the story I may write for this! (And tomorrow I may be walking my bicycle past one of those locales to get it to the repair shop!)

Thanks! I didn’t start the story off in a museum, but the Wild West conjures up trains for me (it doesn’t help I’ve worked at Knott’s Berry Farm twice)!

I enjoyed it! It reminded me a little of Night at the Museum, which is where I wanted to take my story initially! :3

Sometimes I despise my own writing too, and pull it, but you never know if others will like it, even if you don’t! Thanks for putting it back so everyone has a chance to like it! :3

    2. “Chuckle!” Writers are sometimes the worst judges of what they write! I sent a story off years ago because I told myself I’d always have something out in a slushpile and so I sent something I thought was “so-so.” It sold! (And I’m not telling which one! 🙂 )
