We Shall Be Monsters

We Shall Be Monsters is a collection of Frankentales inspired by Mary Shelley’s 1818 version of Frankenstein. My short story, The Hilltop Gathering stars Frances Elizabeth Stein, or Frank E., who spends the evening navigating her rollator (and headspace) through the gaggle of quirky relatives who have come to celebrate her sweet sixteenth. While normally laid back, Frank E. is incensed when her mother reveals the teen’s birthday present.

We Shall Be Monsters was a 2019 Prix Aurora Awards finalist for Best Related Work category! Congratulations to Derek and Renaissance (and to all of the authors!)
